The syllabi, for these exams whether for MCSE 2000 or for MCSE 2003, are based on courses already standardized by Microsoft Corporation. The tests are based on these course contents and ensure that the candidate has an adequate knowledge of the course before the candidate can clear the test for that particular course. As a prerequisite to appear for the MCSE certification exams, Microsoft Corporation requires a candidate to have at least a year of experience in implementing and maintaining desktop operating systems.
